SDG 1 commits to ending all forms of poverty by 2030 through social protection, improved access to essential services, and aid during crises. It envisions a world of shared prosperity with a minimum standard of living and global social protection, particularly for the most vulnerable.

Ajman University (AU) plays a crucial role in advancing SDG 1, focusing on poverty eradication, through various means:

Policy Advocacy and Marginalized Communities: AU actively advocates for marginalized communities, amplifying their voices in policymaking.

Initiatives for Job Creation: The university promotes government initiatives aimed at creating productive employment opportunities, especially for its alumni.

Supporting Low-Income Students: AU ensures low-income students have access to quality education, offering financial aid programs and scholarships, and promoting equal access to higher education.

Thamer Fund: This fund was established to support students facing financial barriers, aligning with AU's commitment to social responsibility.

International Studies Scholarships: AU provides substantial scholarships for students to pursue international studies, facilitating global exposure and expanding horizons.

These efforts not only contribute to SDG 1's objectives but also enhance the educational and socioeconomic landscape of the UAE, aligning with the nation's vision of fostering a prosperous and equitable society. AU's initiatives reflect a dedication to social inclusion and economic empowerment, aligning with the UAE government's move towards sustainable social development.
