Sustainable Development Goal 14 (SDG 14) focuses on preserving and sustainably managing the world's oceans and marine resources. Oceans are crucial for maintaining our planet's habitability and have wide-ranging impacts on climate, resources, and ecosystems. The UAE, under its Vision 2021, actively addresses SDG 14 through the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE). MOCCAE executes projects dedicated to marine conservation, combating illegal fishing, and addressing threats like ocean acidification and pollution.

Ajman University (AU) is deeply committed to SDG 14, focusing on ocean conservation. Its initiatives include:

Environmental Health and Safety: Promoting responsible practices for ocean and marine resource conservation.

Community Engagement: Collaborating with external communities to address marine conservation challenges.

Marine Conservation Awareness: Raising awareness about marine conservation and compliance with environmental standards.

Preserving Water Quality: Enforcing regulations and guidelines for water discharges to ensure the protection of ecosystems, wildlife, and human well-being.

Mitigating Plastic Waste: Putting into action a plan to decrease plastic waste within the campus.

AU actively contributes to safeguarding our oceans, aligning with the objectives of SDG 14.
